After a perfect start to the season where Rovers have three wins from three, scoring 9 and conceding just the 1, we look to get into the qualifying rounds of the FA Cup as we host Wisbech Town at Hillgrounds.
Following the 2-0 victory over Long Melford in the previous round, Rovers progressed to face the Fenmen, who picked up an emphatic 5-1 win over Ely City. Wisbech have played four league games in the United Counties League North following their relegation from the Northern Premier League last season. Wins over AFC Mansfield and Skegness Town have been cancelled out by defeats to Pinchbeck Utd and Loughborough Students, who are currently at the summit of the division.
The sides last met in 2017 in the FA Cup, Rovers coming out on top by 2-1, late goals from Lyon and Newman putting Rovers through before defeat to Hereford in the following round. Over the years the sides have met 10 times, Rovers winning twice, drawing twice and losing 6 times.
Rovers will be looking to continue their excellent form before the Bank Holiday double header approaches. The draw for the next round of the FA Cup will be made on Monday.
Admission for this fixture is £10 adults, £5 concessions and students, £1 children, season tickets are not valid for this fixture. We wish all Wisbech Town players, supporters and officials a safe journey to Kempston.
