Rovers made the short trip over the other side of the A421 to face playoff placed Biggleswade FC at the Eyrie.
Chris Nunn made two enforced changes to Saturday's defeat to Ware, Perry Ronayne coming in for the injured Harry Riley as well as Jack Quigley replacing Seb Simpson, who is imminently awaiting to become a father.
The hosts took the lead just two minutes in, a cross from the right was glanced on at the near post before it found George Bailey at the back post unmarked to divert into the net.
It took just ten minutes for Rovers to level things up. Following a well-worked corner, the ball found itself out wide with Stevens who found Stratton in the box, the skipper opening his body and diverting the ball into the corner with his right foot, an excellent finish.
The game evened out although Rovers were looking dangerous going forward, creating a number of set piece opportunities to no avail.
Into first half stoppage time and Rovers were in front. Stratton once again involved as he picked out Baker on the right, the winger's shot across goal was saved but on hand to volley in the rebound was Hatch.
Rovers had the first big opportunity of the second half as the rain stopped, Stratton with a powerful drive from 12 yards but the FC 'keeper got a fingertip onto it and diverted the ball onto the bar. Hatch was forced off following the scramble, replaced up top by Coree Wilson.
The hosts then started controlling the game, and a string of fine saves by George Rose once again kept the Walnuts in the lead.
On 83 minutes the equaliser did come. Once again down the right, a perfect ball was put in to find Marsh unmarked to head in from 6 yards, a very similar goal to the first.
Not much followed in the final 10 minutes or so, with both teams picking up a point in which was probably a fair result but both teams wondering 'what if?'
Rovers remain in 7th, with a trip to Cirencester awaiting us on Saturday.
