A tough test this Tuesday as table toppers Berkhamsted make the trip to Hillgrounds. Rovers will be looking for a response following the defeat on Saturday to Aylesbury Utd.
The Comrades are sitting healthy following playoff heartbreak last season, 18 points clear of second placed Biggleswade FC with the added benefit of a game in hand. If the Comrades were to beat Rovers, they would only require a point from their last 7 games to secure promotion to Step 3, although a 21 point gap and 30 goals better off than 2nd would require nothing short of a miracle.
Rovers were defeated 3-1 at Broadwater earlier on in the season, Ben Baker's first half equaliser not enough as two second half goals for the hosts left the Walnuts empty handed.
Manager Ash Fuller has given his thoughts ahead of the fixture, "It’s been a hard few weeks that’s for sure with poor results, and easy to become negative with the situation and free fall till the end of the season.
"However, bar Saturday's overall performance I have been pleased lately with lots of play, from the Kidlington game, Didcot, second half at Hadley the overall football we have played has been good.
"Berko will be a tough game that’s for sure. I think they have been the most complete team I’ve seen all season, so credit to Chris Devane with what he’s doing there.
"We just hope to try and postpone their celebrations slightly as they are looking worthy winners.
"With our group we remain positive and work with the group to develop a tough mentality for ourselves. This time in the season for us is as much character building as it is results. The lads, young and old will have tough times in football, and we need to come through this patch."
A reminder our season ticket offer is once again available for this fixture. A safe journey to all Berkhamsted players, fans and officials making the trip.
