Saturday sees Kempston make the trip over to Aylesbury United, who currently ground share with Thame United, having left their previous shared home in Leighton Buzzard.
The ‘Ducks’ have been technically homeless since 2006 – coinciding with their relegation from the Southern Premier League.
Aylesbury United have been members of Southern League Division One Central since the 2013-14 season following promotion as runners up of the Spartan South Midlands League. They have enjoyed finishes of 12th, 13th and 19th in their recent seasons in this league.
The reverse fixture at Hillgrounds on 25th October finished 3-2 to the Ducks in a game that will mostly be remembered by Rovers fans as one we finished with nine men and still nearly took a point. Danny Watson scored both goals that night for the Walnut Boys.
The Journey to Aylesbury United’s temporary home at Thame is listed on Google maps as an hour and ten minute drive from Rovers. The best route given is to head via Leighton Buzzard, through Aylesbury itself and out the other side on the A418. When approaching Thame itself, take the first exit on the large roundabout into Tythrop Way and the ground is immediately on the left. There is ample parking at the ground.
