Following last weekend’s postponement, our next match sees Rovers take on Petersfield Town.
Petersfield will arrive at Hillgrounds with a record of one win in their last seventeen games, which includes only two draws and a run of eight consecutive defeats. Indeed, the visiting Rams have had a rough ride this season, sitting bottom of the league with only nine points and twenty eight goals scored to their name from their thirty two games so far. To make matters worse, according to official club twitter, the Petersfield manager walked out at half time in their most recent defeat to Kidlington, quitting his role.
Petersfield are in their second season at this level of football, having been promoted as Wessex League champions in 2015, making last season’s thirteenth place (above both our local rivals Barton and Bedford) the club’s highest ever league finish.
Kempston, on the other hand will be looking to build on their previous victory over Aylesbury United and record back to back wins for the first time since late November. New signing Jake Newman will be looking to make his mark and impress his new fans in, what should be, his home debut.
The reverse fixture back in the autumn finished 3-0 to Rovers, who will be looking to do the league double over their opponents.
