Saturday sees Rovers travel to Chalfont St. Peter on the back of Tuesday night’s win over Ashford Town. Our hosts have picked up just five points from their previous six matches and sit eighteenth in the league’s form table. Rovers, by virtue of their recent good form, have taken eleven points from their last six matches and are unbeaten in their last five.
Google maps lists the trip as just under an hour, however our good friends the M1 and M25 might have something to say about that. The seemingly best route to take is via the two motorways, exiting the M25 at Junction 17, and then following signs in Maple Cross. Once through Maple Cross, take the third exit at the roundabout onto Chalfont Lane – this will take you back over the M25. Once over the motorway, take a left onto Denham Lane, then first right into Joiners Lane. When you reach a roundabout for the A413, take the third exit and the entrance to the ground is on your left. Please be aware that there are very few signs and putting the club’s postcode into your satnav will direct you into a housing estate behind the ground, which is a long walk round. Use SL9 9QS on your satnav, this will take you to a road called Gravel Hill, which leads into the ground. There is a small car park at the ground that should be more the sufficient.
Chalfont have been in the division since 2011, having been promoted from the Spartan South Midlands League, apart from last season’s sixth place finish, they have mostly been a mid-table side. Back in December, Rovers won the reverse fixture by a single goal.
