Did you know… The town of Marlow has had at least one bridge over the river Thames since the reign of King Edward III, the current suspension bridge was designed by William Tierney Clark in 1832 and served as a prototype for the larger Szecheyni Chain Bridge, which crosses the Danube in Budapest, Hungary- which is twinned with Marlow.
In the bar afterwards Warm up and watch Dagenham & Redbridge take on Aldershot Town on the big screens.
On this day in Rovers history… In 1993 Rovers took on Totternhoe in the Bedfordshire Senior Cup semi final, played at Leighton Town’s Lake Street ground. Rovers won by a single goal, scored by Darren King.
The game will offer players, officials and fans of the club to say good bye to Sam Johnson. The winger has made himself a terrace favourite since first turning out for Rovers in 2013-14. Sam has made a total of 143 senior appearances for Kempston Rovers, scoring thirty three times, including six in twenty six games this season. Sam is travelling to New Zealand to play for Lower Hutt City in the NZ equivalent of the Championship. His pace and wing play have been thrilling to watch down the years and have provided many memories for all connected with the club, undoubtedly the highlight of Sam's time with the Walnut Boys was the double winning season in 2015-16.
