United have enjoyed a good preseason, picking up four wins and a notable draw with Colchester United. Their only friendly defeat has come against Colney Heath of the Spartan South Midlands League. Forward Aaron Berry has found the net four times in pre-season, so will be the man to watch.
Kempston have improved as preseason has progressed. We have seen additions made to the squad that have made the team stronger.
Rovers’ record on opening day in the Southern League is one win, against Aylesbury FC, and one defeat at the hands of Moneyfields. In the five seasons that the club spent in the United Counties Premier before promotion, opening day has yielded two wins, a draw and two defeats.
Basic directions;
Follow the A421 towards Milton Keynes, once you have passed the ‘long jump statue roundabout’, take the second exit at the next roundabout, following the sign for MK Dons. At the next three roundabouts take first, third and first exits toward Bow Brickhill station. Cross the railway line and then the A5 and stay on the A4146. Stay on this road, crossing all roundabouts, until you see the B488 to Tring signposted at a roundabout – take this exit. In the village of Ivinghoe, turn left at the T junction to stay on the B488. From this road, follow signs for Tring. When in Tring, follow signs for the A41. Follow the A41 toward London, take the exit marked Chesham A416, taking the first exit at the junction roundabout. When you reach a mini roundabout by a Shell garage, turn left to stay on the A416. Continue to follow signs for A416 (Amersham) over roundabouts. You will pass between Esso and BP petrol stations on opposite sides of the road, at the roundabout after these, the entrance to the ground is the third (just right of straight on) exit. There is ample parking at the ground.
