On this day in Rovers history… In 1979, Rovers beat St. Albans City – now of Conference South – 2-0 away from home in the FA Cup.
Rovers last game on this day was in 2015, which resulted in a 2-1 win away at Wellingborough Town on the way to promotion from the UCL
This is the fifth league meeting between Kempston and Bedford Town since Rovers came up into step 4 in 2016. Both sides claiming two victories each.
Bedford, who have been as high as Conference South in their recent history, will be looking to improve their league finish of 8th in the last two seasons and their summer signings suggest big ambitions on their part. They will be pleased to see their attendances up at the start of this campaign and very pleased with their successes so far in the FA Cup – as one fan said, “never in my wildest dreams did I think we’d win 3-0 at Enfield”.
Rovers have picked up since the start of the season and recorded three straight wins before the two draws with Chalfont. Still, we all enjoyed the late night and penalty success.
