Sporting’s Current League Form (six games) LWWWDW
Did you know… In 1992/93, Bromsgrove Rovers, the forerunner to the current club, finished second in the Con-ference – albeit fifteen points behind Wycombe Wanderers. It remains the highest ever finish for either the current or former club in the football pyramid.
In the bar Manchester City take on Everton in the lunchtime kick off on Sky, while after the end of our game, Fulham host West Ham on BT Sport. Both games will be live on our big screens.
On this day in Rovers history… The earliest recorded result on this date was in 1906, when Kempston beat Woburn Sands Montrose in the second round of the County Cup by 4-0.
Last season on this day, on a Friday night, Rovers went down 2-1 to a hard working, industrial AFC Dunstable side. Jake Newman scoring Rovers’ goal.
Kempston are without a win in eleven games in all competitions as Tony Joyce looks to steady the ship. The run of games has included Rovers facing all of the preseason promotion favourites as well as a clash with Luton Town.
Bromsgrove didn’t enjoy their last visit to Bedfordshire, losing heavily at our near neighbours Bedford Town. Sporting have also suffered a big defeat against another of their promotion rivals Corby Town, although they have recorded the biggest win in the entire league this season – beating Kidlington by just the eleven goals back in August. Not a bad start to your first season at Step 4.
