Yaxley’s Current League position 11/20
Last Time They Were Here… We haven’t played Yaxley since the season we were promoted, when we beat them 3-0 on the opening day of the season. Goals that day were from Dom Lawless, Vinny Shrieves and Mikey Lyon in front of a modest crowd of just forty.

Did you know… With Yaxley’s promotion at the end of last season and the re-shuffle of the non-league pyramid, it has meant that the last three champions of the United Counties League are now playing in the same division. Kempston, 2016, Peterborough Sports, 2017 and Yaxley 2018.
In the bar Manchester United take on Reading in the early kick off and after our game, join us to watch Blackpool take on Arsenal. Both of these games are on BT Sport in the FA Cup.
On this day in Rovers history… This is a very unsuccessful day in the history of Kempston Rovers, eleven games are recorded on this date, just two of them have been wins. The last win coming in 1974, with Desborough Town beaten 3-2 at home. The other win was a 4-0 home win over Stevenage – no, not the League 2 side, but their predecessors – in the Beds. & District League in 1929
Both Yaxley and ourselves suffered defeat on New Year’s Day. The Cuckoos went down four nil at home to Corby Town, while we lost at North Leigh.
Tony Joyce has officially registered himself as a player and was on the bench against North Leigh, becoming the fifty fourth player to have been named in a matchday squad this season for Kempston Rovers. Fans who made the trip to North Leigh will still be chuckling as poor Stuart Mellon had his name read out as Scott, despite it being written correctly on the team sheet that was being read out, which also listed one “Luean” Riley on the bench. It must be the handwriting of whoever fills in the club’s paperwork!
