Daventry Town were promoted from the United Counties League last season, having won the title rather comfortably in the end. They are no strangers to life in this league, however, having reached the play offs in 2011 (their first season at this level) and 2014. They also made the first round of the FA Cup in 2013, visiting Chesterfield – taking six hundred or so fans with them. In 2014-15 the club had a flirtation with the relegation zone before finding safety late in the season, but a sideways move into the Northern League Southern Section saw the club finish second bottom and take a two level demotion into the United Counties Division One. Three seasons later and they are back in the Southern League Central.
